"When you're ready... will you be my Pelican?" -Cailleach to Ysmay, Feb. 29, 2020

Sometimes fate puts you on a path and you don't even realize it. This is how my road began.

Ysmay and I met in 2017, I think, and were instantly friends. We have similar interests, paths and ways of being that aligned to a mutual mentorship without even realizing it.

My words are truncated, as I'm still working on processing the emotions behind it all. I can simply tell you that Ysmay helped me find my path in the SCA: Art as Service. During the {ahem} pandemonium that hit the world in 2020, we met for online art dates on a weekly basis. Sometimes we just talked about everything and nothing, and other times we discussed my needing to stop being a shy wall-flower, and start talking about myself. So, since I was home a lot more than I've ever been, I was afforded the time to create this webpage and blog. My Dear Peer also continued to push me towards the Service path that Maester Mael Eoin had begun with me, expanding my interests from local offices, to pushing myself to take on greater roles, such as Deputy Head Retainer for our current Highnesses. I'm expanding some of my art forms, and looking forward to creating more with lampworking.

I want to thank everyone who took the time to be with us during our ceremony, and who've taken a moment to offer up congratulations to us. You love means the world to me.
